Trying to salvage some coins from 2013. Core (bitcoin-qt.exe v0.8.1-beta on Windows 8.1) is taking weeks to DL the blockchain as expected but keeps crashing now. Can I upgrade to a newer version without losing what I've gotten already (about 75% complete)?

Currently there are 134305 blocks remaining. When I start it up it works pretty smoothly for a while but then slows down. I leave it running while I'm gone but the last several days when I've come back it has crashed and gives me an I/O error, and I have to hit OK then start it back up. It does appear to be further along when I start it back up but not by a whole lot. So this has really slowed my progress. It's reindexed about 75% though, and so I don't want to start over from the beginning.
The drive it is on has ~400gb of free space so that's not the issue. I have 8gb of memory, and the task manager says bitcoin is taking up about 500mb, but it's using 60-85% of my cpu at a time.
If I download a newer version of core, I can just copy/paste the old wallet.dat file, right? But wouldn't it have to start downloading the entire blockchain again from the beginning? If so, is there any quicker method?
While typing this, it crashed twice. It only runs for about 10 minutes.
The version I have doesn't have any settings I can change. I read that there's a db size limit you can change in later versions that could help. This one does have a "debug window" with a command line console but I don't really know what to do with it. Here is a list of available commands:

The White Dragon : A Canadian Dragon Portfolio

Alright guys, Ive been working on this for a while and a post on here by a guy describing his portfolio here was the final kick in the ass for me to put this together. I started writing this to summarize what Im doing for my friends who are beginners, and also for me to make some sense of it for myself
Hopefully parts of it are useful to you, and also ideally you guys can point out errors or have a suggestion or two. I'm posting this here as opposed to investing or canadianinvestor (blech) because they're just gonna tell me to buy an index fund.
This first section is a preamble describing the Canadian tax situation and why Im doing things the way that I am. Feel free to skip it if you dont care about that. Also, there might be mistake regarding what the laws are here so dont take my word for it and verify it for yourself please.
So here in Canada we have two types of registered accounts (theres actually more but whatver). There is the TFSA "Tax Free Savings Account", and RRSP "Registered Retirement Savings Account"
For the sake of simplicity, from the time you turn 18 you are allowed to deposit 5k (it changes year to year based on inflation etc)in each of them. That "room" accumulates retroactively, so if you haventdone anything and are starting today and you are 30 you have around 60k you can put in each of them. The prevailing wisdom is that you should max out the TFSA first and you'll see why in a minute.

TFSA is post tax deposits, with no capital gains or other taxes applied to selling your securities, dividends or anything else. You can withdraw your gains at any time, and the amount that you withdraw is added to the "room" you have for the next year. So lets say I maxed out my TFSA contributions and I take out 20k today, on January of next year I can put back in 20k plus the 5 or whatever they allow for that year. You can see how powerful this is. Theres a few limitations on what is eligable to be held in the TFSA such as bitcoin/bitcoin ETFs, overseas stocks that arent listed on NYSE, TSX, london and a few others. You can Buy to Open and Sell to Close call and put options as well as write Covered Calls.

The RRSP is pre-tax deposits and is a tax deferred scheme. You deposit to lower your income tax burden (and hopefully drop below a bracket) but once you retire you will be taxed on anything you pull out. Withdrawing early has huge penalties and isnt recommended. You are however allowed to borrow against it for a down payment as a first time home buyer. The strategy with these is that a youngperson entering the workforce is likely to be in a fairly low tax bracket and (hopefully) earns more money as they get older and more skilled so the RRSP has more value the greater your pre-taxincome is. You can also do this Self Directed. Its not relevant to this strategy but I included it for the sake of context.
Non registered accounts ( or any other situation, such as selling commercial real estate etc) is subject to a capital gains tax. In so far as I understand it, you add all your gains and losses up at the end of the year. If its a positive number, you cut that number IN HALF and add it to your regular pre-tax income. So if I made 60k from the dayjob and 20k on my margin account that adds up to 70k that I get taxed on. if its a loss, you carry that forward into the next year. Theres no distinction between long term and short term. Also physical PMs are treated differently and I'll fill that part in later once I have the details down.
The reason why all that babble is important is that my broker Questrade, which isnt as good as IB (the only real other option up here as far as Im aware) has one amazing feature that no other broker has: "Margin Power"
If you have a TFSA and a Margin account with them, you can link them together and have your securities in the TFSA collateralise your Margin account. Essentially, when it comes to the Maintenance Excess of the Margin Account QT doesnt care if its in the TFSA *or* the Margin!
You can see how powerful this is.
So as you can tell by the title, a lot of this is heavily inspired by Chris Cole's paper "The Allegory of the Hawk and the Serpent". You can read it here:
Between it, his interviews and my mediocre options skills at the time my mind was blown. Unfortunately I didnt know how to do the Long Volatility part until after the crash in March but I've since then had nothing but time to scour the internet and learn as much as I could.
The way I interpret this isnt necessarily "what you should have right now", but what abstracted model they were able to backtest that gave them the best performance over the 90 years. Also, a lot of my portfolio I already had before I started trying to build this.
As such my allocations dont match the proportions he gave. Not saying my allocations are better, just showing where they are at this time.
I'm going to describe how I do Long Volatility at the end rather than the beginning since the way *I* do it wont make sense until you see the rest of the portflio.

Physical PMs 22%
I'm not sure wether he intended this to be straight up physical gold or include miners and royalty streaming companies so I will just keep this as physical.
I consider Silver to be a non-expiring call option on gold, so that can live here too. I am actually *very* overweight silver and my strategy is to convert a large portion of it to gold (mostly my bars) to gold as the ratio tightens up.
If youre into crypto, you can arguably say that has a place in this section.
If an ETF makes sense for part of your portfolio, I suggest the Sprott ones such as PHYS. Sprott is an honest business and they actually have the metal they say they have. If you have enough, you can redeem your shares from the Royal Canadian Mint. The only downside is that they dont have an options chain, so you cant sell covered calls etc. Simple enough I suppose.
One thing to bear in mind, there is a double edged sword with this class of assets. They're out of the system, theyre nobody's business but your own and theres no counter party. That unfortunately means that you cant lever against it for margin or sell covered calls etc. You can still buy puts though (more on that later)

Commodity Trend (CTA) 10%
Patrick Ceresna gave a good presentation on what this strategy is. Until I watched this video I just thought it meant "buy commodities". A real CTA does this with futures also so aside from the way he showed, there are two other ETFs that are worth looking at.
COM - This is an explicit trend following ETF that follows a LONG/FLAT strategy instead of LONG/SHORT on a pile of commodity futures. So if they get a "sell" signal for oil or soybeans they sell what they have and go to cash.
COMT- Holds an assortment of different month futures in different commodities, as well as a *lot* of various related shares in producers. Its almost a one stop shop commodities portfolio. Pays a respectable dividend in December
If you want to break the "rules" of CTA, and include equities theres a few others that are also worth looking at
KOL- This is a coal ETF. The problems with it are that a lot of the holdings dont have much to do with coal. One of them is a tractor company. A lot of the companies are Chinese so theres a bit of a red flag.
Obviously Thermal Coal, the kind used for heating and powerplants isnt in vogue and wont be moving forward...but coking coal is used for steel manufacturing and that ain't going anywhere. The dividend is huge, pays out in December. A very very small position might be worth the risk.
Uranium- I'm in URA because thats the only way for me to get exposure to Kazatoprom (#1 producer), which is 20% of the holdings. The other 20% is Cameco (#2 producer)and then its random stuff.
Other than that I have shares in Denison which seems like its a good business with some interesting projects underway. I'm still studying the uranium space so I dont really have much to say about it of any value.
RSX- Russia large caps. If you dont want to pick between the myriad of undervalued, high dividend paying commodity companies that Russia has then just grab this. It only pays in December but it has a liquid options chain so you can do Covered Calls in the meantime if you want.
NTR- Nutrien, canadian company that was formed when two others merged. They are now the worlds largest potash producer. Pretty good dividend. They have some financial difficulties and the stocks been in a downtrend forever. I feel its a good candidate to watch or sell some puts on.
I'm trying to come up with a way to play agriculture since this new phase we're going to be entering is likely to cause huge food shortages.

EURN and NAT- I got in fairly early on the Tanker hype before it was even hype as a way to short oil but I got greedy and lost a lot of my gains. I pared down my position and I'm staying for the dividend.
If you get an oil sell signal, this might be a way to play that still.

Fixed Income/Bonds 10%

Now, I am not a bond expert but unless youre doing some wacky spreads with futures or whatever... I dont see much reason to buy government debt any more. If you are, youre basically betting that they take rates negative. Raoul Pal of Real Vision is pretty firm in his conviction that this will happen. I know better than to argue with him but I dont see risk/reward as being of much value.
HOWEVER, I found two interesting ETFs that seem to bring something to this portfolio
IVOL- This is run by Nancy Davis, and is comprised of TIPS bonds which are nominally inflation protected (doubt its real inflation but whatever) overlayed with some OTC options that are designed to pay off big if the Fed loses control of the long end of the yield curve, which is what might happen during a real inflation situation. Pays out a decent yield monthly
TAIL- This is a simpler portfolio of 10yr treasuries with ladder of puts on the SPX. Pays quarterly.

Equities 58% (shared with options/volatility below)
This is where it gets interesting, obviously most of this is in mining shares but before I get to those I found some interesting stuff that I'm intending to build up as I pare down my miners when the time comes to start doing that.
VIRT- I cant remember where I saw this, but people were talking about this as a volatility play. Its not perfect, but look at the chart compared to SPY. Its a HFT/market making operation, the wackier things get the more pennies they can scalp. A 4% dividend isnt shabby either.
FUND- This is an interesting closed end fund run by Whitney George, one of the principals at Sprott. He took it with him when he joined the company. Ive read his reports and interviews and I really like his approach to value and investing. He's kind of like if Warren Buffett was a gold bug. Theres 120 holdings in there, mostly small caps and very diverse...chicken factories, ball bearings all kinds of boring ass shit that nobody knows exists. Whats crucial is that most of it "needs to exist". Between him, his family and other people at Sprott they control 40% or so of the shares, so they definitely have skin in the game. Generous dividend.
ZIG- This is a "deep value" strategy fund, run by Tobias Carlisle. He has a fairly simple valuation formula called the Acquirer's Multiple that when he backtested it, is supposed to perform very well. He did an interview with Chris Cole on real Vision where he discusses how Value and Deep Value havent done well recently, but over the last 100 years have proven to be very viable strategies. If we feel that theres a new cycle brewing, then this strategy may work again moving forward.

I want to pause and point out something here, Chris Cole, Nassim Taleb and the guys at Mutiny Fund spend a lot of effort explaining that building a portfolio is a lot like putting together a good basketall team. They need to work together, and pick up each others slack
A lot of the ETFs I'm listing here are in many ways portfolios in and of themselves and are *actively managed*. I specifically chose them because they follow a methodology that I respect but I can't do myself because I dont have the skill, temperament or access to.
The next one is a hidden gem and ties into this. I'm not sure how much more upside there is in this one but man was I surprised.
SII- Sprott Inc. I *never* see people listing this stock in their PMs portfolios. A newsletter I'm subscribed to described this stock as the safest way to play junior miners. Their industry presence, intellectual capital and connections means that they get *the best* private placement deals in the best opportunities. I cant compete with a staff like theirs and I'm not going to try. I bought this at 2.50, and I liked the dividend. Since then they did a reverse split to get on the NYSE and like the day after the stock soared.
When it comes to mining ETFS I like GOAU and SILJ the best. None of their major holdings are dead weight companies that are only there because of market cap. I dont want Barrick in my portfolio etc.
SGDJ is a neat version of GDXJ.
Aside from that my individual miners/royalty companies are (no particular order)
RIO- Rio2 on the tsx, not rio tinto
Options/Volatility: varies
So this is where we get to the part about options, Volatility and how I do it. I started out in the options space with The Wheel strategy and the Tastytrade approach of selling premium. The spreads and puts I sell, are on shares listed above, in fact some of those I dont hold anymore.
Theres tons of stuff on this in thetagang and options so I wont go into a whole bunch (and you shouldnt be learning the mechanics from me anyway) but theres one thing I want to go over before it gets wild.
If I sell a Cash Secured Put, from a risk management perspective its identical to just buying 100 shares of the underlying security. You are equally "Short Vol" as well, it just that with options
its a little more explicit with the Greeks and everything. But if I use my margin that I was talking about earlier, then I can still collect the premium and the interest doesnt kick in unless Im actually assigned the shares.
But if I sell too many puts on KL or AG, and something happens where the miners get cut down (and lets be real, they all move together) my margin goes down and then I get assigned and account gets blown up
So what I need to do, is balance out the huge Short Vol situation in my portfolio, be net Long Vol and directly hedge my positions. Since the overwhelming majority of my equities are all tied to bullion this is actually a very easy thing to do.

So I set this up so the vast majority of my margin is tied up in these 1-2 or even 1-3 ratio put spreads that *I actually put on for a small credit*, and roll them every once in a while. I run them on SLV, and GDX.
I keep enough room on my margin so I can withstand a 10% drawdown before it sets off the long end of the spreads and then I can ride it out until it turns around and we keep the PM bull market going.
Theres another cool spread I've been using, which is a modified Jade Lizard; if already hold shares, I'll sell a put, sell a covered call, and use some of the premium to buy a longer dated call. Ive been running this on AG mostly.
I have a few more spreads I can show you but Im tired now so it'll have to wait for later.
As I said multiple times, I do intend to trim these miners later but now isnt the time for that IMO. I'm also monitoring this almost full time since I have an injury and have nothing better to do until I heal :p

IOTA funds were stolen (3.49Ti ~500k$) on 12th March 2020 after network relaunch [longread]

Hey CC comunity!
First of all, sorry for posting it a bit late I have some serious changes in my lifestyle and business due to Coronavirus situation in the world. For those who are infected I wish to get well soon and all the rest to stay safe and to stay home.
Here is my short story:On March 12th I made similar but short post regarding my stolen IOTA in the sub IOTA. First of all I met around 50% downvotes, I don’t know why but it seems that IOTA’s community don’t want to see posts regarding stolen IOTA, I got a lot of critics for using Trinity wallet instead of hardware and so on. But I see nothing strange using desktop wallet and it doesn’t matter whether it is IOTA Trinity or Bitcoin QT or Ethereum wallet unless in has strong manually typed password, VPN connection and some other security things. Or maybe IOTA’s community was afraid of unwanted bad attention during that market crash that day. So because of that experience I decided to make a post here at CC.
Some short reminder of what happened before my funds got stolen (
Some news:
If you don’t want to read that news here are some facts with timestamp:
February 12th 2020 - 18:55
As a precaution we ask you to keep your Trinity wallet closed for now.
February 12th 2020 - 19:20
After initial investigation we decided to turn off the Coordinator to make sure no further theft can occur until we find out the root cause of these thefts. (Lets say: “blockchain stopped”)
February 14th 2020 - 17:50
We have found the exploit.
February 15th 2020 - 00:50
After successfully identifying the attack on Trinity through a third-party integration
February 17th 2020 - 02:23
We have just released a safe version of Trinity Desktop to allow users to check their balance and transactions. This version (1.4.1) removes the vulnerability announced on 12th February 2020. (I’ve installed this particular version)
February 21st 2020 - 18:43
February 24th I left my country for some working trip
February 26th 2020 - 13:10
We are currently in the testing phase of the migration tools, once testing completes the tools will be audited by a external party. If this all goes well we are aiming to release these tools later this week.
February 29th 2020 - 19:15
The Seed Migration Tool is now available.
March 6th 2020 - 15:17
REMINDER: You have until 5PM (UTC), Saturday, 7th March to migrate your seed.
I’m still out of the country but I’m pretty sure I’m safe coz I’ve installed 1.4.1 wallet which removes the vulnerability.
March 8th 2020 - 18:15
The migration period has ended.
I got back to my country
March 10th 2020 - 16:45
We are aiming to resume value transactions around 5PM CET today.
March 10th 2020 - 18:15
The network coordinator has resumed operation. (Let’s say “blockchain restarted”)
Now my turn:
My balance by that time (
March 10th
I’ve decided to send my IOTA to exchange until I buy Hardware wallet and sort it out how it worksTest transaction to exchange 5Gi:JQ9DZPGUFLBJTLDLIKQBWLUBOXJULKIQFSWKNYVFIHETSZJOTGRYEZZELE9BZFVUEBGATEITPDTXXHZVD
It took exchange 24 hours to credit it to my balance…
All over again… 24h to credit it to my balance.
March 12th
screenshot of transaction with stolen IOTA (
All performed transactions (
Same day I’ve made first post on reddit to get some attention to the happened situation. At the same time I’ve start to search for some technical support through over official telegram groups:
(’ve send a message where I’ve stated that my funds were stolen after network relaunch. Got some response from user Basti he invited me to another group with general discussion.screen shot 1 ( shot 2 (
Our short dialogue continued at the general discussion group iotacafe
( Where Basti introduced me to the IOTA Foundation member Antonio Nardella (
Before I started my conversation with Antonio I decide to get some information about him. I’ve found a Medium post with some welcoming words to Antonio Nardella.
( telegram( medium
Seems legit.
Of course I couldn't be 100% sure it was him but the information he asked for wasn’t really sensitive so decided to share all I knew and all I did.
( He also mentioned a wallet integrated service MoonPay, whether I used the wallet with this service or not and it didn’t matter if I used the service it self.
I’ve informed him that I used 1.4.1 wallet which was recommended to install on February 17th 2020(
When he gathered all the necessary information regarding loss of funds he took the time for sending this information for investigation team.
After a long awaited answer I got the same day this:
“Hello, I was informed that the loss of tokens is associated to the person/team responsible for the Trinity wallet attack via a third-party dependency from Moonpay.
As suggested on, please file a report with the local police and to cite the following case number when doing so: LKA Berlin, Center for Cybercrime, case number: 200213-1717-i00290.”(
So, reinstalling the wallet didn't help me to avoid the loss of funds.
Well if my funds are proved to be stolen then it means - yes, I’ve used the Trinity wallet between the December 17th 2019 and the February 17th 2020. And yes, I wasn’t able to make seed transition during the given period. I was out of the country starting form Feb 24th till March 8th. I can even proove it with my border passing stamps… You know I didn’t use to take 4.5Ti with me just in case I would need an urgent seed transition. Could you imagine thousands of people with their multimillion Bitcoin holdings carrying private keys everyday with them just in case they would need seed transition… The funds were stolen not by my mistake but IOTA developers/foundation/etc (lets say IOTA team) mistake.
At the end of my story I want to take your attention to the fact that I didn’t compromise my PC neither wallet nor password nor seed. All my fault was for using the desktop wallet… How can you imagine your user without using your software/services/etc… I want to publicly call IOTA team (especially mr David Sonstebo) to cover not only those which were to happen back in the Feb 2020 but all the loses which were caused by that wallet vulnerability. (
Thanks for reading and thanks for your time!

(Updated) [Staking] Reddcoin Core client GUI wallet on a Raspberry Pi Model 3B

This thread is an update to my first Reddcoin staking tutorial that was written 7 months ago.
The reason for the update
My Reddcoin Core software crashed and became unusable. My Raspberry Pi 3B would lag and freeze, I couldn't stake anymore.
Instead of just redoing everything the same way, I wanted to see if I could improve on 3 points:
The updates
If you would like to tip me
Writing a tutorial like this takes time and effort; tips are appreciated. My Reddcoin address: RqvdnNX5MTam855Y2Vudv7yVgtXdcYaQAW.

This video shows how long it takes to start Reddcoin Core.   TL;DR:

Backup your wallet to prevent losing the RDDs in your wallet! There are two methods to backup, do both. Make new backups if you create a new receiving address!
Boot with only 1 USB drive plugged in:
Make sure only the USB drive (with the swap partition and data partition) is plugged in when you boot up your Raspberry Pi. This to make sure the swap partition (/dev/sda1) is recognized correctly.   If you boot up with multiple USB drives, Lubuntu might see the USB drive with the swap partition as the second drive (instead of the first drive), and ignore the 2 GB swap partition. If this happens, starting Reddcoin can render the Raspberry Pi unresponsive.
Connection issues If you have issues syncing the blockchain because you have 0 network connections, please follow the instructions in this thread.
Start Reddcoin Core easier
Run a shell script (.sh file), so you can start Reddcoin just by double clicking on an icon on your Desktop.
Minimization options
Adjust minimization options, so you can safely press on the X button (the close/exit button on the upper right corner).
RealVNC VNC Viewer (client) and VNC Connect (server): To remote connect to the Raspberry Pi, I use VNC Viewer ad VNC Connect from RealVNC.
Chromium as browser: The updates break Firefox, the browser crashes when you try to run it. Install another browser, Chromium, to solve this issue.
Updates / Upgrades
If Software Updater shows up and tells you that there is updated software available, do not install the updates using Software Updater. Use LXTerminal to update Lubuntu.

WolfpackBOT trading software is enabled with limit, market, and “Wolf Trade” orders on all trading candles, including one-minute candles, with the widest array of technical trading indicators available on the market. WolfpackBOT's proprietary “Wolf Trade” orders provide superior market sell orders with a bite! WolfpackBOT is the only trading bot to feature live price scanning on your positions and also handles partial fills with ease, meaning you don’t miss out on orders. WolfpackBOT is incredibly fast and can fulfill up to 10,000 trades per day depending on market conditions and subscription package.
WolfpackBOT allows simultaneous trading access to all cryptocurrency exchanges that are available to the bot, and all trading pairs through the WerewolfBOT subscription plan. Not only do inferior bots allow limited access to one exchange and one trading pair per bot, they also store your API keys remotely on servers which are potentially susceptible to hacks and pump and dump attacks. User security and API key protection holds a high priority within the WolfpackBOT framework which is why it is the only trading bot that gives users full control with local management of their API keys.
Masternode and Proof of Work X11 Blockchain
Wolfcoin Blockchain with X11 Proof of Work Mining and Masternode Reward Systems The Wolfcoin blockchain and network are both designed and engineered to ensure store of value, transactional speed and security, and fungibility. The main goal of the Wolfcoin blockchain is to facilitate fast and secure transactions with a governance that helps sustain the network for the benefit of all users. The Wolfcoin blockchain is a two-tier network comprised of a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism powered by miners and a Proof of Service (PoSe) system powered by masternodes.
The Wolfcoin blockchain is secured through Proof of Work (PoW) in which miners attempt to solve difficult problems with specialized computers. When a problem is solved, the miner receives the right to add a new block to the blockchain. If the problem was solved correctly, the miner is rewarded once the block is added.
The second tier, which is powered by masternodes, enables Wolfcoin to facilitate private and instant transactions with Private Send and Instant Send. Masternodes are also rewarded when miners discover new blocks.
The block reward is distributed with 80% going to the masternodes and 20% going to miners. The masternode system is referred to as Proof of Service (PoSe), since the masternodes provide crucial services that support the features of the network.
Masternodes also oversee the network and have the power to reject improperly formed blocks from miners. If a miner tried to take the entire block reward for themselves, the masternode network would orphan the block ensuring that it would not be added to the blockchain.
In short, miners power the first tier, which is the basic sending and receiving of funds and prevention of double spending. Masternodes power the second tier, which provide the added features that make Wolfcoin different from other cryptocurrencies. Masternodes do not mine, and mining computers cannot serve as masternodes.
Additionally, each masternode is “secured” by 10,000 WOLF. Those WOLF remain under the sole control of their owner at all times. The funds are not locked in any way; however, if enough of the funds are moved or spent to cause the user’s holdings to drop below 10,000 Wolfcoin, the associated masternode will go offline and stop receiving rewards.
By pre-ordering your WolfpackBOT subscription, you will also receive Wolfcoin as a reward that can be utilized in the following ways:
  • Redeemable for WolfpackBOT subscriptions
  • Redeemable for the WolfBOX Console
  • Redeemable for WolfpackBOT and Wolfcoin apparel and merchandise
  • Fungible utility that can be exchanged for like value on exchanges
When you hold at least 10,000 Wolfcoin in your Wolfcoin wallet connected to a static IP address, you will become a masternode, meaning you will have a chance to receive 80 percent of the block reward every sixty seconds.

Groestlcoin Release September 2018

As always, the past 3 months since 22nd June have been crazy busy. The bears might still be around, but the show must go on and of course has not slowed the Groestlcoin development team in the slightest. Here’s a quick overview of what has already happened since the last release: - Integrated into the bitbns exchange, with the ability to buy Groestlcoin directly with the Indian Rupee. - Groestlcoin Rebrand Vote – Whilst there was much talk and push for a rebrand vote, the overall result was almost unanimously in favour of keeping our unique and conversation-starting name. With just 83 votes to Rebrand, and 2577 votes to No Rebrand. Thank you for all who voted, the funds raised are being used to fund ongoing hosting and development costs. - Integrated into the Cryptobridge exchange. Cryptobridge is a popular decentralised exchange where you always hold the private keys to your funds, only YOU have access to them. - Groestlcoin has been added to SimpleSwap – Groestlcoin can now be swapped with over 100 other cryptocurrencies, without signing up! - Groestlcoin has been added to UnoDax, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in India, with TUSD, BTC and INR trading pairs. - Groestlcoin has been added to, where you can buy Groestlcoin using Bitcoin and over 50 other altcoins. Purchasing with VISA/Mastercard is coming VERY SOON. Discussed later: - Groestlcoin has been listed on #3 largest exchange in the world on volume, Huobi Global! More on this to come further on in the announcements. - Groestlcoin has been added to the Guarda Multi-Currency Wallet. - Groestlcoin has been added to Melis Multi-Device, Multi-Account, Multi-Platform, Multi-Signature advanced wallet! Already this list is far more than most other cryptocurrencies have achieved in the past 3 months. But this is just the tip of the iceberg of what has been developed.

What's been Happening?

GRSPay Released

We are so excited for this, that it has it's own separate reddit thread. Head over there now at to see more on this!

Melis Wallet

The the most advanced wallet for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and now Groestlcoin.
With Melis you have the complete control of your bitcoins and private keys, you can define spending limits policies and make use of two or more factors authentication. Melis is open source, published on GitHub.

How Melis Works?

You can create as many accounts as you want. An account is a part of your wallet that can be customised to your requirements. You can choose how many co-signers are required to spend funds. The accounts are completely independent and act like separate wallets from each other but can be accessed via the same details. A core feature of Melis is the ability to set a ‘primary’ device. With this you can set an account as ‘Secure’ so it is only viewable (and accessible at all) from the Primary device. You can have a savings account hidden from the outside world whilst also having your ‘spending’ funds available on the go. With Melis you can create a multi-signature account between N people, where up to N signatures are required to sign a transaction, choosing if any of those should be mandatory.
Core Features:

Guarda Wallet

Integrated into Blockchain Financial

What is Blockchain Financial?

Blockchain Financial is a set of web based services for individuals and companies that want to make things happen with the Cryptocurrencies Ecosystem. - For those that don't know anything about cryptocurrencies, we offer tools that will let them receive, send and operate with an assortment of coins. - For those that are already riding the wave, we offer tools that will let them do all those things that they weren't able to do.

Blockchain Financials mission

We're not here to reinvent the wheel. We're here to make it run smoother for you, and we provide some of the most useful services you'll find on the internet, made in a way that is easy to understand and use on a daily basis. In short, we're a bunch of people that claim to be Crypto Evangelists. We strongly believe in cryptocurrencies, and our main promise is to push them up so more people get involved and take all the advantages they offer.

More information from Blockchain Financial

Back in 2014, the world was taken by storm when Facebook approved the first cryptocurrencies tipping apps. The first was for Dogecoin, and the second was for multiple coins.
The project was hosted on, and persisted for almost two years, built up a massive user community and gave a home to Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and dozens of other bitcoin-based altcoins.
After very active months, the tipping hype started to fade away. Then, the developers decided to jump into the next stage: bringing not only tipping, but also mining and a widget that could be embedded on websites to allow everyone to accept payments. Sadly, the work was never completed because the project started to require an unsustainable amount of resources. Then, in a painful decision, a shutdown was announced by December 2015.
A couple of months after was closed, the source code was released by its creator as Open Source on GitHub. But it wasn't maintained.
Now, some of the original members of the dev and admin teams gathered up with a handful of the WhitePuma's elite users, and decided to make something good with the best pieces of the old source code. That, with fresh new ideas and the power of the BardCanvas engine, synthesized the core of Blockchain Financial.

Groestlcoin Core v2.16.3 - Please Update ASAP

A new major Groestlcoin Core version 2.16.3 is now available for download which includes both a Denial of Service component and a critical inflation vulnerability, so it is recommended to upgrade to it if you are running a full Groestlcoin node or a local Groestlcoin Core wallet.
v2.16.3 is now the official release version of Groestlcoin Core. This is a new major version release with a very important security updates. It is recommended to upgrade to this version as soon as possible. Please stop running versions of Groestlcoin Core affected by CVE-2018-17144 ASAP: These are 2.13.3 and 2.16.0.
As a result in this, all exchanges and services have been asked to upgrade to this version, so please be patient if wallets go in to maintenance mode on these services.

What's new in version v2.16.3?

This is a major release of Groestlcoin Core fixing a Denial of Service component and a critical inflation vulnerability ( exploitable by miners that has been discovered in Groestlcoin Core version 2.13.3 and 2.16.0. It is recommended to upgrade to 2.16.3 as soon as possible. If you only occasionally run Groestlcoin Core, then it's not necessary to run out and upgrade it right this second. However, you should upgrade it before you next run it. If you know anyone who is running an older version, tell them to upgrade it ASAP. Stored funds are not at risk, and never were at risk. At this time we believe over half of the Groestlcoin hashrate has upgraded to patched nodes. We are unaware of any attempts to exploit this vulnerability. However, it still remains critical that affected users upgrade and apply the latest patches to ensure no possibility of large reorganizations, mining of invalid blocks, or acceptance of invalid transactions occurs.

The Technicals

In Groestlcoin Core 2.13.3, an optimization was added (Bitcoin Core PR #9049) which avoided a costly check during initial pre-relay block validation that multiple inputs within a single transaction did not spend the same input twice which was added in 2012 (Bitcoin Core PR #443). While the UTXO-updating logic has sufficient knowledge to check that such a condition is not violated in 2.13.3 it only did so in a sanity check assertion and not with full error handling (it did, however, fully handle this case twice in prior to Thus, in Groestlcoin Core 2.13.3, any attempts to double-spend a transaction output within a single transaction inside of a block will result in an assertion failure and a crash, as was originally reported. In Groestlcoin Core 2.16.0, as a part of a larger redesign to simplify unspent transaction output tracking and correct a resource exhaustion attack the assertion was changed subtly. Instead of asserting that the output being marked spent was previously unspent, it only asserts that it exists. Thus, in Groestlcoin Core 2.16.0, any attempts to double-spend a transaction output within a single transaction inside of a block where the output being spent was created in the same block, the same assertion failure will occur. However, if the output being double-spent was created in a previous block, an entry will still remain in the CCoin map with the DIRTY flag set and having been marked as spent, resulting in no such assertion. This could allow a miner to inflate the supply of Groestlcoin as they would be then able to claim the value being spent twice.
Groestlcoin would like to publicly thank Reddit user u/Awemany for finding CVE-2018-17144 and reporting it ( You deserve gratitude and appreciation from cryptoworld, and you have ours. If you want to support him for his work, please consider donating to him on his bitcoin cash address: bitcoincash:qr5yuq3q40u7mxwqz6xvamkfj8tg45wyus7fhqzug5

Groestlcoin EasyVanity Released

Groestlcoin EasyVanity is a Windows app is built from the ground-up in C# and makes it easier than ever before to create your very own bespoke Groestlcoin address(es), even whilst not connected to the internet! You can even generate multiple keys with the same prefix and leave it on overnight whilst your CPU or GPU collects and stores these addresses locally.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then Groestlcoin EasyVanity is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.

• Ability to continue finding keys after first one is found • Includes warning on startup if connected to the internet • Ability to output keys to a text file (And shows button to open that directory) • Ability to make your match case sensitive (Where possible) • Show and hide the private key with a simple toggle switch, and copy the private key straight to your clipboard • Show full output of commands • Includes statistics whilst the application is running • Ability to choose between Processor (CPU) and Graphics Card (GPU) • Automatically detects 32 or 64 bit systems • Features both a Light and Dark Material Design inspired Themes • EasyVanity's search is probabilistic, and the amount of time required to find a given pattern depends on how complex the pattern is, the speed of your computer, and whether you get lucky. • EasyVanity includes components to perform address searching on your CPU (vanitygen) and your OpenCL-compatible GPU (oclvanitygen). Both can be built from source, and both are included in the Windows binary package. • Prefixes are exact strings that must appear at the beginning of the address. When searching for prefixes, Easyvanity will ensure that the prefix is possible, and will provide a difficulty estimate. • The percentage displayed just shows how probable it is that a match would be found in the session so far. If it finds your address with 5% on the display, you are extremely lucky. If it finds your address with 92% on the display, you are unlucky. If you stop EasyVanity with 90% on the display, restart it, and it finds your address with 2% on the display, your first session was unlucky, but your second session was lucky. • EasyVanity uses the OpenSSL random number generator. This is the same RNG used by groestlcoin and a good number of HTTPS servers. It is regarded as well-scrutinized. Guessing the private key of an address found by EasyVanity will be no easier than guessing a private key created by groestlcoin itself. • To speed up address generation, EasyVanity uses the RNG to choose a private key, and literally increments the private key in a loop searching for a match. As long as the starting point is not disclosed, if a match is found, the private key will not be any easier to guess than if every private key tested were taken from the RNG. EasyVanity will also reload the private key from the RNG after 10,000,000 unsuccessful searches (100M for oclvanitygen), or when a match is found and multiple patterns are being searched for. • Free software - MIT. Anyone can audit the code. • Written in C# - The code is short, and easy to review.

I would like to dump about 20k into Bitcoin. I want to make sure it is secure as possible.

I have been playing with Bitcoin for a bit over a year now, and I am finally ready to make a very large investment. I have used many types of wallets from to Bitcoin-QT, to keeping money on exchanges, etc. My favorite at the moment is my Bitcoin-QT wallet since it is simple and pretty secure.
What I want to know, however, is if I do dump 20k into BTC, I want my investment to be heavily secured from not only others but myself. What I mean is, I know a lot of people praise the paper wallets and brain wallets, but I worry about myself forgetting the information, etc.
Is using Bitcoin-QT with a very, very large and random password secure enough to store that type of money? I know the risk of keyloggers and all that, but I run that same risk accessing my regular bank account online.
I guess what I am asking is... what more precautions should I take to put that kind of money into BTC?
Edit: Before anyone asks, I am completely aware of the risks that come with investing in BTC (as far as possibly losing all my money in a market crash that never recovers) - what I want to do is figure out how to avoid all other risks - the risks that I can control.

I have a Bitcoinfession and a plea: Don't gamble.

Hi everyone, I know very few people will see this and that's okay. I decided after a week of severe depression, anxiety, self-loathing, and general fucked up thoughts that I needed to talk about what I did. On the scope of a confession, it isn't much to some people, but to me it is a huge and daunting fuck up that I'll be paying out the nose for. The reality is I might even be homeless due to this. I used a throwaway for this because a few people I know have my primary acct and I can't bear the shame of them knowing yet.
To get to it, I made a huge mistake and lost all my money. ALL OF IT.
If it isn't obvious already, I don't have a lot of money. I am not a all that familiar with bitcoin and only recently began taking part in the community. /Bitcoin has been my bible and go to source nearly every day for the last 6 months. But again, I don't have much money and I decided that I have a this tremendously good feeling about where bitcoin is going so I warily invested in a couple coins around January 2nd at about 809 a coin from coinbase. I was terrified of losing what I put in. Then the next day, the price jumped about $30! I was ecstatic! I was amazed! I couldn't believe that my investment had begun working for me after only a day! It was a great feeling.
At the same time of all this, I had just finsihed up a huge ordeal with Bank of America over fradulent charges on my debit card that sent my account into the negative and had intitially accured almost $1000 in overdraft and other fees. It took months to get all my money back and in the end still lost out on about $200 dollars. Needless to say, I was more wary of my bank than bitcoin at this point and bitcoin was GIVING me money instead of giving it away. So I did the only logical thing I could think of at the time and put the rest of my savings into BTC.
And guess what? It went up again! I was so happy with my decision that I started reading more and more about BTC.
Then the fluctuations in the BTC market started happening. I started to get nervous because the only cash I had was losing value and fast. I knew that it had a habit of fluctuating like that but I never had any money invested before. The anxiety was real for me every day I'd hop on /Bitcoin and see the news about mtgox ( then after that the silkroad 2 hack.)
So, about a week ago when coinbase's price was plummeting still due to gox's problems and bad press and so on I started getting nervous. More nervous than I had been before. My "investment" had lost almost 200 a coin and I was sick to my stomach watching and waiting for the price to come back up like it "always" does.
I was posting around a few forums and asking questions about what I should do? What could I do in the mean time? Should I pull out and take my losses? I got to talking to this guy on one of the forums who seemed to know what he was talking about. He mentioned the dice site satoshi bones and how he was in the same spot as me, made one bet and came out 10BTC richer. Even sent the tx ids. It was awesome to see and was even more awesome to imagine. He went as far as to send me .05 btc (holy shit!) and said "Make a few bets and watch, some of the odds are great."
So I did that. I sent a few bets of .001btc and made nearly .5 btc in 5 minutes. I was hooked. I was going to make my money back. I was going to make a few bets and get out with what I put in, no more.
So I proceeded to make bigger bets. I was making money. I was getting good at watching and "considering the odds." It wasn't really the case, I was just geting lucky here and there. I had no idea what the fuck I was doing.
Then the transaction malleability thing happened. Or, rather, it was probably happening the whole time. I don't know. I don't know what it did to my MultiBit account, but it was sending my coins and not updating my balance. I was losing more than I knew because the double spends ended up looking like I had more in my overall account than I did. At one point, it appeared that I had TRIPLED my initial BTC investment over all and I was nearly crying with joy.
Then I couldn't access my funds. It said I had a "Balance" of 30btc, but "Spendable" was .05. I knew that it took a little while for the transactions to get through the system and clear but minutes turned into hours and hours into days.
When the whole story about the transaction malleability broke into full swing I started tracing my tx IDs back. I was a nervous wreck at that point. I had so many double spends and unconfirmed transactions that there was no way to actually find out how much I truly had left. When I looked through multibit's logs, it had mulitples of the "wins" that I knew I had but numerous tx Ids. I couldn't keep track of it all. Attempting to "reset" the blockchain on Multibit would only cause it to crash (probably because I had sent and received sooooo many unconfirmed transactions back and forth between that game.)
I decided to grab my private keys and attempt to use Bitcoin-QT to sort it all out to no avail. It too said I had a balance around 30 BTC unconfirmed (a mind blowing amount of money for me!!!!!) I relaxed and decided I would just have to wait it out to get my money and I'd hold off on grocery shopping until the weekend (today.) Even if I had half of that after it all cleared up, I'd have made a HUGE profit.
About two days ago everything calmed down and my balance began fluctuating like mad on both the Multibit client and Bitcoin-qt. It went UP at one point to 40 BTC even! Then transactions started to disappear. Mostly, the transactions that disappeared were the "wins." I assume this is because all of the unconfirmed txs or double spends started being pushed out of the system? I have no idea.
I'll take a second to mention that I've never had an interest in gambling whatsoever. I've been to vegas, played a few slots, sat in for some poker and blackjack, would lose and just walk away. However, the last couple days I was consumed by the dice game. I thought I was making incredible money, hand over fist.
Yesterday, my balance completely cleared up. I'm broke. I have nothing left. I pissed away even my winnings (maybe 3btc) I had before the transaction malleability started fucking things up. I cried for the first time in 10 years yesterday. Today, I cried again.
Over the last week I fell into a depression and was overcome by this urge to just stop existing. Not really suicide at first, but, more of a "I want to close my eyes and let it all blow over." Then, when that didn't happen, I did start considering suicide. I have no money left. I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do for rent, for food, for gas, for my fucking books next quarter. I moved to california on my own about 3 years ago and have zero family in the area. I don't have family to lean on finacially whatsoever (I come from a seriously bad luck/misfortune/poor family.) Monday I'll be heading to my university to find out what I can do and if I qualify for any loans. Or something. I don't know. But right now, I need to tell people and persevere and try to make it out of this.
But, my point of posting here isn't a pity party or to draw out "sorry for the bad luck" responses. I did this to myself and this pales in comparison to the bad luck others have had.
I want people to use my sincere and obvious FUCK UP as a lesson. I got caught up thinking I was making money. I wasn't fully aware of what was happening during the transaction malleability shit and made decisions without fully comprehending the situation (and it is NOT the fault of Mulitbit or the dice game even if I wanted something to blame.) Most of all, I was GAMBLING my money away. It was greed and poor decisions. But mostly greed.
So, I fucked up. I don't want YOU to fuck up like I did. Please look at the story and realize that it can happen to anyone without fully thinking through your decisions and having a grasp on the situation. And SERIOUSLY consider when you're putting too much money at stake when gambling. You could regret it and be in a shitty spot like myself. Thanks for reading.
TL;DR Holy shit I wrote a novel. Sorry. In short, I inadvertently gambled away my only $7000 during the transaction malleability crisis and it is no one's fault but myself. I am now broke and terrified and I don't want YOU to suffer like I did. Do not gamble and do research before you do anything with your money especially if it is all you have.
EDIT: Though my intial reason for posting was NOT to focus on why my balance said one thing and the actual balance was another, here is what the balance looks like on my Multibit client right now. However if you look at the blockchain, that's clearly not the case and hasn't been for days and days. These are the addresses I used off and on. Not all of them but those were the most active I think. 17cHzgxRLumqfu6UAddUrJmTujd7goHLrx 1BAKHq37qj1xekitr7adXapLqFrVtAhm8A 1KLug6D1mXoyS12BZipyQ8WHAdNzDmQxMp. Also, when I opened the Client today it seemed to send or revieve "stuck" transactions? I don't know what to tell you all beyond that.

(AUS) How to move wallet.dat file safely to a new wallet

My question is regarding the moving or importing of the wallet.dat file from a Macbook laptop that barely functions (it's very old) and Bitcoin QT wallet that doesn't open anymore (keeps crashing) to a new Mac computer and new wallet - Electrum. Just to explain it a bit better - I bought some coins back in 2013 and didn't touch them until I went to check up on them a few weeks ago. Weeks ago I could open the Bitcoin QT and saw that my bitcoins didn't sync up as they were 'Unconfirmed', but didn't understand much about how to get the private key etc.. Now that I have read up on that, I was going to open the Bitcoin QT and get the key, but this time the software crashed and wouldn't open again. So then I found the actual folder where the wallet.dat file is kept and copied it over to a USB stick. On my Mac computer I have downloaded the Electrum wallet (with seed), but I'm kind of stuck as what to do next. How do I move it safely? I have read many forums and it looks as though I just copy over this file into the Electrum folder and when I run the Electrum, the coins (even if they're unconfirmed) should show up. However, being super cautious - I'm still unsure how to do it securely. The wallet.dat is non-encrypted. Is it ok to copy this file over to the Electrum folder while I'm online? I have tried it while switching off the internet, but obviously I couldn't do anything as you need internet to run the software.. My main worry is - am I ok to copy this file onto my computer while I'm online? Should I encrypt it first? If yes, how? How would I encrypt it if my laptop barely functions? If I don't need to do it, is it just a simple matter of copying the file from my USB to Electrum data folder and bam, I should have my coins? Also, regarding the unconfirmed coins - they should still show up, right? And what do I need to do to confirm them? Many thanks for any answers.

Togashi's Nen in real life explained.

Anyone who have watched Hunter x Hunter knows the mysterious technique of Nen and how it works. I think many fans of HxH dream if only Nen was in real Life. That's why Im here to analyze Yoshiro Togashi's Nen in details and show you how it's actually a real technique.
First of All, we need to know the definition of Togashi's Nen, so according to Fandom Wiki : Nen is a technique that allows a living being to use and manipulate their own Aura (Life energy).
If we want to make from this definition a real technique, we need to know what is this "Aura".
Because there is many different definitions of Aura. I will just write my own. Aura is something that our body emit, and can be perceived by other living being. But this Aura cannot be measured by tools or machinery. It's not heat nor electromagnetic made by our neural waves nor any physical force field that affect no-living object. We only know this aura can only affect living being. Living with consciousness.
The most known Aura effects is the "Feeling of being watch" or "Sensing the presence of someone". If someone was watching you from his own eyes there is a possibility that his aura will have effect you. If he was using a camera from another country watching, his aura will also have effect you. If he was recording the video to watch you later, the moment he watch the video his aura will go to the past and affect you the moment of the recording. But if the recoding was destroyed before any living being had watched it, no aura will affect you. (A little like the Von Neumann-Wigner interpretation of Quantum Observation) That means this aura, is not limited to space nor time, and can only be emitted and received by living with consciousness.
So the perfect equivalent aura in real life and in scientific meaning is : Information.
In the world of Hunter x Hunter, we can say that everything has some amount of Aura (Nen) in it. Same as in our real world everything has some amount of information in it.
There is an example that confirm the fact that equivalent of the Nen is information, is when Wing shown Gon, Killua and Zushi the CD video of Hisoka's match agains Kastro. Paused at a Bungi Gum attack, Wing tell them to concentrate their Aura in the eyes (Gyo) to see the Bungi Gum. But the video was just a recording from a CD. Did the camera recorded the lights waves of the aura? if so, changing brightness, color and contrast from Photoshop or AfterEffect will expose the Aura. And it also means it possible to make a detector that can detect and measure Aura. But Aura is not a frequency wave, it's does not emit light.
I dont know what is the explication of this in the Anime. But if we see Aura as information, it make perfect sense. The video has hidden information that can be deduced only if you concentrate on your eyes and analyze the image. Like concentrate your eyes on the hand movement of a real magician manipulating objects to find the trick. I think this is the scene where Togashi was referring in the Anime.
The perfect equivalent of Hisoka's video in real life is this video of the mentalist Lior Suchard manipulating a whole audience.
Can you see the trick? No, it's not injecting the word "S-T-A-R" in the mind, his explanation is incorrect. Keep in mind a mentalist/magician will never expose his tricks. The real trick is the hardest, he manipulated the information flux of the whole surrounding, by carefully listening to all inputs from his 5 senses. and analyzing the best words, body reaction, and state of mind to make the outcome the closest to the probability of every one drawing a star (he say himself, he use only his 5 sense there is no 6). He did like Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS) in video games, but in real life. He already have build up with experiance an emulator of real life and social interaction events in his mind where he can simulate the outcome and search for the best inputs. And he did that months before the show. And when in the stage he only push "Play". Like play the file inputs of a TAS from an emulator on a real game console. And to achieve this, he need a perfect control of information (Aura) emitted by his body and received by his 5 senses. The false explanation of "STAR" at the end was just to cover up the trick and also make the audience believe that he can make them draw anything if he want to. But this only work for "STAR". He can do for other drawing but for him "STAR" is the easiest one. Also don't be fooled by his humble appearance and made up accent. His Zetsu of nullify his Aura/Information is very impressive. But he is a great Nen Master.
So the equivalent of Aura is information. if we rewrite the definition of Nen from Fandom and replacing Aura by information, we will get : Nen is a technique that allows a living being to use and manipulate their own information.
For the perspective of other, our own information can be from multiple source : body, gesture, words, sound, eyes. But in our perspective, the real source of our information is unique : our Mind. Thats why Togashi explained Nen as Mind Force (念).
To use and manipulate our own information, we need to use and manipulate the source, our state of Mind. And this can be done by big amount of meditation and very hard training or any hard work that use mental or physical abilities. This explain why some world's most famous and influential people have naturally learned how to manipulate their own information. They got through very hard experience in life and trained on very hard physical or mental situation. The information that they are genius come from the force of their Minds.
To control our Mind we need to be self aware of it and study it. The Mind is composed to three different states : Emotion, Mental and Instinct. To Master a game like chess, we need first to nullifies our emotion after a good move or a bad move. Shroud our mental to think deeper, memorize better and learn faster. And Enhance our instincts by sensing the game and the future of opponent moves.
We know in the Anime, Nen have 4 principe : Ten shroud the Aura (on the body). Zetsu nullifies the Aura. Ren intensify the Aura. Hatsu act/transmit the Aura.
In real world equivalent, if we replace Aura with information, the 4 principle will be : Ten shroud the information. Zetsu nullifies the information. Ren intensify the information. Hatsu act/transmit the information.
For Hatsu, we are already seeing it. We transmit information by words, writing, books, cars, computer, planes, building, music, art, programs, video games etc. They are all made up from information, the expression of the user or maker. And those who copy others, can never master Information.
For Ten, Zetsu, Ren in real life are principle of the state of mind. To master the game of chess for example you need to first to Zetsu nullifies the Emotion. Ten shroud the Mental, and Ren Intensify the instinct. And with those principle you can use and manipulate your own information and make your Hatsu stronger.
Komugi was too far better than Meruem in Gungi because she exceed in all of these principles of Nen in the game. She has a perfect Zetsu of emotion, she is emotionless when playing, not like Meruem where emotion took over him specially when he think he made a perfect move, the precocious feeling of achievement. And she has also a perfect Ten of Mental. materializing the board in her mind with an eidetic memory of all moves and positions and shroud all the mental in Gungi without thinking of anything else. And also a wonderful Ren, which made her sense the game and predict the unpredictable with her instinct and discover new strategies by acting randomly and make herself impossible to Meruem to predict. And this made her Hatsu on the game unreachable by Meruem. Even if he was the King of Ant the most powerful creature in the anime. The case of Gungi's Nen is the exact in our world. Only the game is the world and the players are us. And those who master Nen have a far better advantage.
And now we know the the equivalent of Aura and 4 principle of Nen, we need to know the types of Nen in real life.
In the Anime there is 6 type of Nen : Enhancer, Transmuter, Emitter, Conjurer, Manipulator and Specialist. The definition of those type are firmly linked to the definition of Aura in the anime as a Physical Energy, where every type has a physical propriety on the matter and manipulating the existence of matter in the void. But what caught my intention more than that, is Hisoka's Test of personality of each Type:
Enhancers are determined and simple.
Transmuters are whimsical and prone to deceit.
Emitters are impatient, not detail-oriented, and quick to react in a volatile manner.
Conjurers are typically high-strung or overly serious and stoic.
Manipulators are logical people who advance at their own pace.
Specialists are individualistic and charismatic.
In real world, those type of Nen are the type of Mind. And there is not 6 but 9 types : Reformer, Helper, Achiever, Individualist, Investigator, Loyalist, Enthusiast, Challenger, Peacemaker. And like Hisoka, the Personality Test of those type are :
Reformers are principled, purposeful, self-controlled, and perfectionistic.
Helpers are generous, demonstrative, people-pleasing, and possessive.
Achievers are adaptable, excelling, driven, and image-conscious.
Individualists are expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed, and temperamental.
Investigators are perceptive, innovative, secretive, and isolated.
Loyalists are engaging, responsible, anxious, and suspicious.
Enthusiasts are spontaneous, versatile, acquisitive, and scattered.
Challengers are self-confident, decisive, willful, and confrontational.
Peacemakers are receptive, reassuring, complacent, and resigned.
In the Anime, We know that a Nen user have only one basic type that can be determined by the Water Divination, but he can learn some of the other types as complement according it's compatibility on the Hexagon. It's just the exact same In real world, a Nen user have only one basic type that can be determined by a test called the RHETI test. And he can learn some of the other types according it's compatibility on a crescent shape with 9 vertices; the Nenagram (Nonagram/Enneagram). Where each type is connected to two other types, and can learn one of the them beside his basic type, and that second type is called the Wing. The basic type dominate and the Wings complement the personality of Nen. And learning something that do not fit on your type may be difficult. And I think Togashi have made his inspiration of types of Nen exactly from this. It's explain why he chose the name Wing for the first Nen teacher of Gon and Killua.
(for more info about RHETI :
Now, we have analyzed Nen in real life. And made up an equivalent of Ren, Ten, Zetsu, and the types of Hatsu. The question is how to learn all those techniques and made it in practice?
We said that to master Nen we need a very hard training and big amount of meditation, more specifically a physical work and a mental work, to achieve a perfect control of our Nen/Information. In the Anime, Wing had explained that there is two way to get Initiated to Nen : The deliberate way and the aggressive way. The deliberate way is by training and meditation which it's the most common. And the aggressive way, is using the brute force.
In our real word, the aggressive way or the bruce force is training and mediating simultaneously all day and all night and even when sleeping without a break. Because mastering Nen has a price, and that price is by doing that work, a work that merge the physical work and a mental work on one unique elemental work.
Isaac Netero has already made a similar of this, a merging by adding praying which is mental work with a punch, a physical work into one work, and do it repeatedly many times for many years to achieve the incredible power he had on the anime. But we in real life will marge even more on a more simple single elemental work. And that work is : continuous muscle contraction.
The continuous muscle contraction is both, a training of the strength and the endurance of the muscle, and a meditation to concentrate the mind into one unique point. And with this work its possible to learn Nen faster and master it better than most famous natural Nen user.
In the body there is many muscle; arms, hands, legs, abs, face… etc. And for a beginner contracting continuously all the muscle at once is nearly impossible. That why we need to contract muscle by muscle. Each time after a muscle become a second nature we add another muscle in contraction. But we don't want to train only the muscle, we need also meditate to enforce our mind with it's 3 states; Emotion, Mental and Instinct. That's why the muscle order need to follow some specific steps; 3 steps to be exact for 3 groups of muscles. And here we are bringing the 3 principles of Nen in real life: Sen (Emotion), Ten (Mental) and Ren (Instinct).
I will explain only the first principle Sen which is about Emotion. I'm not allowed yet to explain Ten and Ren in details.
Sen is the most fundamental principle in Nen. Because to master our own behavior or our own information, we need to master our own Emotion, and try to nullify it at the maximum. When nullify our emotion, no one can read, provoke or manipulate us. And also it will bring a very calm state of mind. This state of mind can be trained by pure meditation in the deliberate way, but it can also be trained by Nen by continuously contracting muscle.
The center of Emotion is the Heart, which is the source of heart rate, breathing, heart pressure and emotion. The muscles of Sen is the upper abdominal muscles which are the closest to the heart, and continuously contracting it, will make you very conscious of that singularity of heart and emotion and will make you easy to nullify.
The principle of Sen is simple, keep contracting the Abs all day and all night and when sleep until it become your second nature. And then there is the last phase of mastering Sen is protecting the emotion from triggering effects and shocking events. For example, you are playing Five Nights at Freddy's with Sen, if someone jumpscare from behind, you should to max contracting Sen, and concentrate the strength on the heart to protect the emotion from the shock. I little like Ryo from the anime, enforce the aura in a region to block an incoming Kick. The same for other triggering example like: provocation, humiliation, boredom, fear, rage, temptation… Sen in short is nullify the emotion to the maximum and protecting it to maintain a calm state of mind.
If you want more information about Sen, my Master Pakka Jodinshi have made a website in the Deep Web, where he shared the definition of Nen in real life and explained in details the first principle Sen to control Emotion. The two next technique Ten and Ren will be explained later in the website.
The Tor link of the website is : wmjtj2j57mcvs7ms.onion
if you don't have Tor Browser, you can go with any browser to :
if you see only an image with no text, just turn your phone horizontally and the text will appear.
I also made a subreddit for Nen Users who want to collaborate and share their experiences, stories and theories : /NenUsers
Im Jins Leac, my pseudonym. I'm one of the students of Pakka Jodinshi, the pseudonym of my Master who taught me Nen.
I will still be here to discuss both Togashi's Nen and real life equivalent Pakka's Nen.
I will finish my post with some random funny facts and funny coincidences for those who are curious to know or want to laugh a little :
@My username "9fRjigBqHQNwWyYi" was generated by a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) without any intervention or manipulation by my side, it's the purest form of random and chaos.
@Our pseudonyms are QRNG-crypted names made from our real names. (Public Key from Private Key but Quantum Randomized) But mine Jins Leac by coincidence appear to be similar to Ging Freecs the father or Gon.
@We are descendant from a civilization know to be one of the oldest on earth, we are recognizable by our unique ethnicity, language, culture, calendar and alphabet. And Togashi's custom alphabet in Hunter x Hunter is very similar to ours. Did he get the inspiration from us?
@Our ancestor lived in mountains, exactly in the region of Padokia where is Kukuro Mountains. Does Togashi was referring to us?
@The actual Nen in real life was always a nameless technique. But thanks to Togashi, he gave it a name without knowing about it. Like how the Ant King was nameless until Netero call him Meruem. And when we first watched the Anime, the 2011 one, our jaws juste dropped on how the thing was exactly the same as the nameless technique.
@There is a rumor that Christopher Columbus had a secret after discovering America. The secret leads to a hidden valuable treasure with some writing in our alphabet in it. Which means one from our civilization was there before him, but never returned. Similar to Don Freecs in the dark continent.
@We decide to share the technique in English because its the most popular language. We go through leaning it only for the purpose of making Nen public. The same raison why Ryuk in Death Note explained the rules in English.
@English is our 4th language.
@According to the author of One Peace, Monkey D. Luffy have something called conquerer's palm, which is a straight line in the palm on his hand. Me and my Master have those line on both hands. Monkeys and Apes also have those lines. Thats why in medicine they call it Simian Lines. (And No, we are not Apes, we are Humans, and Darwin did everything wrong)
@In Anime, All hands are simians, Edward Elric is not an exception. (watch the first opening of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood)
@Treasure Hunters in the region of Padokia are known to hunt very "rare" kids with special traits, because Demons in that region are thirsty of their blood. One of those trait is a straight line in their hands. Demons promise to give the location of a valuable treasure to anyone who sacrifice those "rare" kids to them. Its similar to Chimera Ants hunting rare humans. And many innocent hands got cut and eyes got pulled to be traded between those evil Hunters. Similar to the eyes of Kuruta Clan (Thanks God we are still alive in one piece)
@If you ask a Treasure Hunter the reason why they hunt those "rare" kids, they will tell you that those kids are not born human, they where exchanged when they came to life with a Djin/Demon children. And the Demons want their blood to claim their children and set them free (Well done Demons! Your kind made up a very clever lie!) And because of that filthy lie those hunters dont see us as normal humans but as children of Djins/Demons. Like how people of Konoha saw Naruto when he were a kid.
@In the region of Padokia, All towns begin with "X" and end with "X" in our alphabet. That's why Pakka chose "XX" as our sign in the website on top of his QR code bitcoin address. Similar to the sign of Hunter Association.
@The red shapes in the QR code was to make the code recognizable at first glance with the "+" triangle and the "J" shape. And the color red between the "XX" was to lock it and suggest that the QR need to have those red shapes. If anyone want to steal the content of the website and add his own QR code, he need to remove or modify all the image. And this make us easy to recognize a thief from a supporter. As I said before, a copier will never Master Nen.
@Initiation to Nen are similar to the Sayan Transformation in Dragon Ball series. First transformation in the initiation to Sen (turning on Sen). Second transformation is the initiation to Ten (turning on Ten in addition to Sen). And Third transformation is the initiation to Ren (turning on Ren in addition to Sen and Ten). And the Ultra Instinct Transformation is "The Zone" enhanced by Nen. And I will add the True Ultra Instinct, is when a group of Nen users are synchronized in "The True Zone" like in Kuroko no Basket.
@The fundamental body organs of Nen are : Heart (Sen, Emotion), Pineal Gland (Ten, Mental) and Spinal Cord (Ren, Instinct)
@Ten's muscles are known to be the most useless muscles in the human body
@Ren's muscles are known to be the most useful muscles in the human body
@When Netero was playing the ball game with Gon. Gon want to kick Netero's stomach with his head the second time in a row. Netero had two choices: Keep contracting the abs and Gon will get hurt. Or relax the abs and he will be the one who will get hurt. That mean Netero was continuously contracting his abs during the entire game. He was using the actual Sen.
@Machi of the Phantom Troupe also used Sen to protect her heart from Killua's piercing hand. Similar to the max contracting Sen to protect emotion from outside triggering effect.
@Neferpitou after attacking Kito arm, and staring at Gon and Killua with a wide open eyes, she used the actual Ten.
@When Adult Gon was charging up the Jajanken to punch the falling Neferpitou from the the sky, he used the actual Ren.
@The one who discovered Nen was at night, he had a huge pain on the stomach due to some shocking events he experienced. The pain got so big for him that he fall unconscious. but his body subconsciously contracted very strong the abs on the stomach to reduce the pain. And after he regain consciousness. He felts the abs strongly contracted with no pain and he felt a weird and very different state of mind. Thats how he learned the nameless technique of Nen. It's similar how the Ant Rammot learned Nen, after the huge pain in his stomach due to Gon's punch.
@The effect of Ten is very similar to the NZT-48 pill scene of the movie Limitless by Neil Burger. If the pill unlock 100% of brain abilities for a brief moment. Nen unlock 100% of human abilities permanently if wanted.
@Patrick Janes from The Mentalist is the perfect image of a Nen Master in real life, He know by the deliberate way how to Sen, Ten and Ren. His behavior and deduction dont begin from Sen to Ren, like commun people do, acting with emotion at first and confirm with instinct at the end. But the inverse. He begin from Ren by acting randomly according to his instinct like a little child, Ten by analyzing why he behaved that way and the reaction of people and environment, connecting dots and find the best explanations and the solution, and Sen by Gyo the emotions of others to confirm the solution.
@Actual Nen is very similar to One For All from Bokuno no Hero Academia.
@We think that the secret of Saitama's power from One Punch Man is the actual Nen.
@Nen is the number 9, Sen is the number 1000, Ten is the number 10 and Ren is the Random number. The instinct from Ren is always random.
@I just noticed that my Quantum Random username begin with a 9. A pure coincidence.
@Sen is the color Red, Ten is the color Blue, Ren is the color Yellow, And Nen is the color Vanta.
@If you turn the website upside down, you will see many expression of a frog (Another pure coincidence! It's Pepe the frog!)
@At the year 0 in our calendar, is the year when one from our civilization won against Egypt and become Pharaoh. Its the most influential and memorable moment in the history of our civilization.
@Nen is The Father Of Gods in the ancient Egypt, the name Nen means "Primeval Waters". Which is equivalent to "Primeval Chaos of Information" and we humans, are users of that information. We are represented by The God Kek a frog headed man that make Memes. In its hieroglyphs is a man in front of a computer connected to the Memes Magic (Information).
@Nen is the Father of Kek the God of Darkness and Chaos, Kek is also known as The Bringer of Light.
@The letter "K" in our alphabet have the shape very close to a Frog on the side.
@The letter "N" in our alphabet have the shape of the Stick of The Father of Gods Nen.
@If Illuminati is symbolized by a triangle with a single barely open eye of a white men in the center. Nen is symbolized by a circle with two wide open eyes of a frog in the center.
@In the Light, white is the supreme color, in the Darkness, all colors are equal.
@Frogs are the only species that can recognize colors in the Darkness.
@Light is centralized with one leader at the source, Darkness is decentralized and there is no leader.
@In the Light everything is exposed, in the Darkness everything is anonymous.
@A Star is the symbol of Light, A Crescent Sun/Moon Eclipse is the symbol of Darkness.
@Arabic is our 2nd language
@In Arabic translation, Nen is "ن", Sen is "س", Ten is "تين" and Ren is "غ". All of them are made from Crescent shapes.
@Nen in Arabic is an acronym of Primeval Ink.
@Kek in Arabic is an acronym of Primeval Pen, represented by "ق" the first letter of Pen. "ق" It also linked to the name of the sound of Frogs.
@In Arabic translation, Meme is "م" the first letter of Water.
@We are Humans using the Information.
@We are Pen using the Ink.
@We are Frogs using the Water.
@We are Kek using the Nen.
@Bruce Lee advise : "Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like Memes. When you pour Memes in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour Memes in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour Memes in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Memes can flow and it can crash. Be Dank Memes my friend.".
@If I'm Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh!, I will see Pakka as the Yami (Darkness) Pharaoh who will bring the Darkness to put out the Light of the Illuminati's pyramid. (And No, Pakka is not some ancient Spirit, he has his own body)
@If I'm Naruto, I will see Pakka as the 9-Tailed Demon Fox. And the funny part is we can summon frogs. (And No, Pakka is not a Demon, it's a normal human like me, and we are 100% human)
@If Satan is the number 666, Nen is the number 999. Add one you got Sen, do the cubic root you got Ten, Divide by zero you got Ren.
@If Satan is symbolized by an inverted Pentacle with a head of a Goat, Nen users (Kek) are symbolized by a Nenagram with a full body Frog.
@If Satan claim the Light and Control, Nen users (Kek) claim the Darkness and Chaos.
@Pure Randomness and Chaos is when patterns and orders occurs.
@Pure Emptiness and Void is when virtual particles appears and disappear.
@Pure Darkness is when virtual lights flashes and extinguish.
@Quantum Randomness from Void fluctuation is the Purest Waters from the fountain of The Father of Gods Nen.
@Here is 999 milliliters of Pure Primeval Water from The Father of Gods Nen's fountain : OxPjqj0VX0oIMvZwdXTYmMZMMFiIyrmhg0ulVLvADW1iVIWkZPQLlU3eV5wNnAvO51Iy6FRGjGRun9w3PIWUgfPOieHcT8dzPfAuOygGY9XUlVDyCi_ue3yqvLeh906s8FB1mzkIbMCpEO902lgcA5onhM94z2RQpVQbDYY8EoNJnvxA8DzDY8C6NHL3sNCmwiVgWkh9k0X3PbNJX9wBVMqiETFNZ4gU2fYM1NOsOW6NYYPF2AH8Vlnc9Y_TjS37wESZtoPKFlaP1EDBpWvFdQ4SxuJ6nVo_Oo8qAnl4yFbO3oH3wfwpsMFcDW6tt6I9LZTFJqAsoXRdyazrBo2uMmpBRod8LfTd7Ji1BheTUXIyw3Li62Eg5C98j4FQO70LutzMiPTZENNZ7LYVmsdKsPt6cOGetqv5YzcufWwUw26qpEVMH4o8ade75hN9_T_eHdKT4xIw7w_Q_SYfTSEYgxRj2RC4nSHNvuG9zdvS71XA4y9TeobRHE6NhB5CSpvA5fNgDkHNT1oEhI7O0x0atUWSWpA1WHx3gaAW5xQyCsQtN2uH8c1xhyJBt9D04bGk_NtAS8kv99h6XCfmExLtZmmlzls8gqVbCsytI8o4Hg11VC7mU1tQD69mXFhM4ip7qzoTnc7YZk44IWSviFu6PwGVW828odKHsx7WYsNZeLZCyUGxcfQsNDpHyi3qodlPKWZrkL0lrorxPCnpQF9ZUhaunV638ynKVSD_XUd6eeBoZeNdvrJDVH1Q_btv95_qtq2ceWren5bMBYzoiY4P9BPYsvylEmDSEWtq3BleLSXbvkc3XOlxW72obrJhJoeFF5AaoQKoheTD4lgBGPtzkRJt6UM9w52luvkhDZJo6yki08umpAZDHDtDmBfZ156BqiqVxTitxcbZuMrjqmbSG7grRzUDE1J2YOgaV1c0b_ve0TrSZFebIkDMkJThSGXSfqgwBlEi4gtC2ajZKmWbl0RmbVzsWqUQ9DIpN
@The name of our civilization also mean Chaos, Savage, Uncivilized, Heathen, Outlandish and Insensate. The perfect meaning of Kek and Nen.
@All the region of Padokia was banned from 4chan. We want to free Kekistan from Normies. Please help us bring Nen to Kekistan.
@Our world is a real life MMO, we called it World Of Nencraft or just Nencraft. Me and Pakka are at level 25 halfway to 26 on Sen and Ten. For Ren, I'm at level 16 (Im in a rest of Ren) and He is at level 22. We need more people joining the game and leveling up to the highest. Then work decentralizedly to beat the Final Boss Illuminati and finally beat the game that no one has ever beat it in Nenillion years. The problem is the Final Boss use Cheat Codes far more powerful than Death Note, which is Black Magic that use Probability Manipulation through a Rule of "Satan can not be killed" in the game program. A Black Magic is an injected instruction in the game program "If this dont happen, Satan will die", and the game program chose always to make the magic happen. Its very similar to No Game No Life (episode 1), where Sora beat the women in Card with the 8th game pelde : "Being caught cheating during a game is grounds for an instant loss". And Illuminati know how to Abuse that.
@The acronym of World Of Nencraft, is WON. Another raison to beat the game.
@As said in Undertale : Anime is REAL!. Our real world will soon be the best Anime you have ever seen.
@In short from everything above, If Illuminati or Satan or The Devil or The Beast or whatever put voluntary subliminal messages on the centralized mainstream medias. Decentralized Anime, Manga, Video Games and Internet Memes Culture (Cult of Kek, Egyptian Gods, Pepe the frog, etc) had by the effect of chaos and pure coincidence clues that leads to Nen.
@This is my third attempt posting in this sub. First attempt got detected as a spam, The second attempt got deleted by Pariston with the tag "Need to be directly related", and I hope in this attempt I made the post related enough so the Zodiacs can be happy. Or maybe they are against the idea of bringing Nen to the public?
